Repurposed tv cabinet becomes a wine rack named ‘Ophelia’

I’m super excited to share this repurpose with you.  Originally, this piece was a vintage tv cabinet.  I forgot to get pictures before my husband removed the beast of a tv from the inside, but I did snap a few pictures of it after he finished removing the innards. He is a saint for helping me on this!  Here she is in her “mostly” before state.

Repurposed tv cabinet before picturesHer before state is pretty sad, but I saw potential.  Call me crazy!  I loved her folding doors, her shape and I even loved the pulls.  I’m sure many of you have seen numerous repurposed tv cabinets.  But have you ever seen one repurposed into a true wine rack?   Please meet ‘Ophelia’…

Ophelia will hold about 17 bottles of wine (don’t drink them all at once) and has a nice amount of storage on the left side. I love that you can close her off or open her up all the way. The doors fold back to the sides, perfectly.  Ophelia is done in a custom color I call ‘fig’. The color is rich and luxurious and adds some glamour to a space.  An upside to owning painted furniture is that your wood accessories/frames don’t get lost. Do you see how great those wood vases look paired with Ophelia?  The art print is  “Flowers for Lady” from Laurel Dawn’s shop.  I love her work and her son’s nursery!

There were some ups and downs in the transformation process, which delayed me (quite a bit) while completing this project… but it was worth it.  Don’t you think?

How about another before and after…
