A blue ombre piece named Tallulah

Hi y’all!   I know it has been a while.  Too long for me and hopefully too long for you all!  I have enjoyed my summer and I hope y’all have as well.  I have been working mostly on custom pieces for others this summer and haven’t had quite the time to work on my own pieces as I had planned.  With an active 11 year old at home…things have been hectic and wonderful!  I am super blessed, but very excited (and extremely nervous) to finally debut Tallulah today.

I love ombre…ombre hair, ombre nails, ombre walls….ombre furniture…but I wanted to put my own spin on it.  When I sketched out my thoughts…I realized my version was risky. The type of risk where people will love it or hate it.  Scary risky!  I just tried not to dwell on it as I was creating.  As I write this post…I’m spazzing out with sick to my stomach feelings.  I love her…but this is the world wide web and people can be cruel.

Soooo….Here is where I originally sketched out my idea for her:

I know. I know. I’m not very good at sketching out my ideas.  Laugh away!  I can always see it in my head clearer than when I try and put my ideas on paper to test it out.  Does anyone else have the same issue?

Are you ready to see how she turned out?  Here ya go.

Tallulah means “leaping water” and even though this eclectic chest of drawers is also my interpretation of ombre the name still fits. Tallulah is organic, eclectic and down to earth and will be for sale in my etsy shop later today.  The bone knobs are beautiful and pop great against the blues. What do y’all think? You can be honest….I just ask for you to be nice/gentle/kind as well as honest.

xoxo

Meg

PS:  Any help on sizing my pictures to fill the screen (from side to side) would be greatly appreciated as well!  I don’t have photoshop and I’m going crazy trying to figure out how to size them properly.
